More Clouds and organizations
Switch between your Clouds, buy another one, add an organization on a Team plan, and give each a colour.
Your computers, at the window's left edge
Once you have more than one place for your bots (This computer, My Cloud, another Cloud, a team's Cloud, or a server of your own), a narrow column of circles appears at the left edge of the Brainwrite window. Each circle is one place; the one you are looking at wears a ring. Click a circle to switch to it. Hover over a circle to see its name.
To hide the column, use the button at the left of the sidebar's top row, or turn off Show your computers in Settings → General → Appearance (in Advanced mode, Settings → Appearance). Turn it on again the same way.
Buy another Cloud
Each Cloud has its own bots, people, apps and plan, and runs on its own.
- Click + at the bottom of the column, then Buy a Cloud.
- Choose a plan: Starter, Pro or Max.
- Give the new Cloud a name and a colour, then choose Continue to checkout.
- Pay in your browser. The new Cloud is set up in about 2 minutes and appears in the column.
Good to know:
- Each extra Cloud has its own plan at the full monthly price, charged when you buy it. There is no free trial on an extra Cloud: the trial is for your first Cloud only.
- You can buy another Cloud once your first Cloud's plan is paid, after its free trial.
- An account can have up to 3 Clouds, your first included.
- Plans are billed monthly. Each Cloud's subscription is managed in Manage billing on cloud.brainwrite.app.
New organization (Team and Business plans)
On a Team or Business plan you can run more than one organization: each is its own Team Cloud, with its own people, bots, apps and keys, at no extra charge.
- Click + at the bottom of the column, then New organization.
- Give it a name and a colour, then choose Create organization.
- A Team plan can have up to 3 organizations, and a Business plan up to 10, the first included.
- The plan's people are shared by all its organizations: everyone in any of them counts toward the plan's people once. On Business, people past the plan's 20 are paid per seat, as before.
- Each organization's name is yours to keep apart: two of your organizations can't share a name.
Add your own server
Click +, then Add your own server, and paste the pairing link from that server's Settings → Remote access, then choose Connect. Brainwrite opens it like a Cloud.
Make your server your bots' home
Since Brainwrite 2.0.26, a server that only you sign in to can be your bots' home, as My Cloud is. Right-click its circle and choose Make (its name) my home.
- Which servers. Only one you added yourself, where nobody else signs in: no members and no other admin on its sign-in list. Never a Cloud or a team's Cloud. It isn't offered while your bots are moving to My Cloud or live there: Brainwrite doesn't move them from My Cloud to a server. It needs an active plan.
- The move. This computer's bots, chats, memory, skills, sign-ins, apps and keys, and routines move to the server, at a quiet moment, as they do to My Cloud. The line above your account says Moving your bots to (the server)…. If the server needs an update first, it says Update Brainwrite on (the server). If the move can't finish for a day, it says why, with Try again.
- After the move. The desktop app opens the server as its home, and what was switched on here is switched on there, so nothing runs in two places. This computer works for the server by itself, as it does for My Cloud: your folders, your internet connection and your screen once your Mac allows it, never commands. The menu bar shows when the server is using it, with Pause.
- This computer in the menu at the top left opens this computer's own copy, as it was when your bots moved. A line at the top says Your bots run on (the server). This is this computer's copy from (the date); what you change here stays here., with Go to (the server). Its automations start off; switching one on asks first, once.
- To bring your bots back to this computer, use Keep this computer's bots on this computer in Settings → Brainwrite Cloud (Advanced). It replaces this computer's bots, chats and settings with the server's copy, so anything you changed or deleted here since the move comes back as the server has it; a safety copy of this computer is kept first. Their automations stop on the server and run here again, and the app opens again once they're here.
Colours
Every place starts plain. To give one a colour, right-click its circle and choose a swatch, or open Settings → Appearance while you are on it. The top of the sidebar takes a faint tint of the colour, so you always know where you are.
A Cloud's colour is kept on your account, so every computer you use shows the same one. Only a Cloud's owner, or its team's owner and admins, can change it.
